What is a landscape design plan? The landscape design plan is a drawing (to scale) of your yard, delineating the major elements within your landscape. This would be used as part of a complete set of landscape construction documents. 

To help us better understand your landscape wishes and desires, we suggest you be prepared with ideas, pictures, preferred colors, likes and dislikes. How you plan to live in your yard is especially important to us. 

Work Required / What's Included: 

• After I get your site plan (or measure your yard) I will put together the layout of the yard. From that, I will then put together our first conceptual plan and layout and email it over to you. 

• Your Landscape Plan will be formatted on 24"x 36" paper and be prepared at an appropriate scale (typically 1/8" or 1/4") Revisions to the plan after preparing included. These plans will be drawn in an auto cad (CAD) program. Color plans are also available. 

• Your Landscape Design Plan will include the following elements:

  • Landscape plants and their locations identifying their species and variety, container size, and spacing requirements (if any)

    • Irrigation plans or Lighting plans are available, if needed, at an additional charge 

  • Hardscape elements including (but not limited to) patios, pathways, columns, gazebos, pergolas, BBQs, pools, ponds, fountains, walls, fencing, children play spaces. We will also help choose your choice of materials and show them on the plan. 

  • **Electrical, civil-drainage and grading, pool, fountain, structural engineering and surveys (if needed) are not part of the scope of the work or fee. If these consultants are necessary, I will assist you in obtaining their services. Documents and fees for permitting and governmental agencies are not included in my fee. ALL permits and engineering are the responsibility of the owner, but we can help you attain any or all of these. If additional design concepts or changes in the design require significant changes after the concept phase, the changes will be billed at the hourly rates below**

Rates: 

• Billed at $200 an hour

• Typical plans will take about 7-10 hours. Sometimes less depending on the size and scope of the project. We tabulate our hours on Quickbooks and bill monthly.

• Plans will cover 1 conceptual plan, (2 if needed) and all changes

• An $1,600 deposit is required before beginning.

*All of the information above is stated in our Design Contract that must be agreed to and signed with approval by the client. 

E-Design (or design online):

If you don’t live within 15 miles of the South Bay of Los Angeles, we can easily still do a landscape plan for you. In this day of the internet, it is no problem!

• Reach out to us (see info below)

• We will help guide you through this, on what information on what information we need you provide us. One will be photos from all four corners of your yard. We will also help you first by us doing a rough drawing of your property from Google Earth. We will email this to you and have you use this drawing to measure your yard of all important sites. We can also instruct you on how to measure. Then, we will have you give us some ideas on what you really would love to have. Do you have a Pinterest or Houzz page? That helps us so too. Let us know and we can definitely help you and will also give you advise on plants that will work in your area as well.

3-D Renderings:

• These digital drawings are done after the Landscape plans are completed. We can do them during the conceptual phase of your drawings but these typically are the finished product shown to you.

• The costs of 3-D drawings are done on a project by project quote. More info can be attained if interested.

Many of our clients come to us from knowing our work from friends and family. We have a crew of 3 journeyman landscapers with extensive experience in all things landscaping; planting, irrigation, low voltage lighting, water feature installation, etc. If you already have landscape plans from another designer, we would love the chance to give you an estimate. Or, if you don’t need extensive landscape plans, but know what you want, then shoot us an email or give us a call to set up an appt. to come and see your needs in person. Then, we can get you a quote on the project.

Rates: 

• Dona’s cost for a consultation out of the local area is $250. But, this can be applied as a credit if we do the work.

• Any landscape work would be quoted out after we have measurements and more info. We don’t quote on site, this protects you from being overcharged. Keep that in mind when you meet with other landscapers out there.

Dona has been designing pools for over 15 years. What started as a need for clients has turned into the creation of many pools and spas in the South Bay of Los Angeles. However, if you are out of the area, she can still do a landscape plan which can be a working drawing so you can go out and seek out pool builders in your area. She has extensive experience in the designing and extensive knowledge in the building of swimming pools and spas to help you through this process.

What’s Required: 

• Landscape pool plans are charged like a regular landscape plan (see above)
